Professor Dr. Marcus Chilaka

After obtaining his PhD in health planning and management in 2007 he began his academic career as a lecturer in health services management at the University of East London. In 2008 he moved over to the University of Salford Manchester as lecturer in environmental health; and from 2014-17  went into management and public health consulting before returning to continue my academic career in my present position. Prior to joining academia, he had trained and practiced as a biomedical scientist within a hospital setting in Nigeria. Over a period of more than 25 years, acquired broad and deep knowledge of the healthcare, public health and voluntary sectors, aligned with equally solid research acumen; also conversant with the formulation of national and international development strategies and fully-integrated health management programmes that directly promote health services, population health and wellbeing.
